About John & GBB

God gave me a heart for the homeless, and now he has given me a mission.

In 2014, I had a “God dream” in which I saw people carrying white 5-gallon buckets on the streets. I observed one man taking personal items out of his bucket. I instantly realized he was homeless. I ran from this dream for years, while keeping it a secret.

In May of 2016, I started a personal relationship with Jesus and made a public profession of faith through water baptism April 30, 2017. Shortly thereafter, God placed a stranger on my path in a coffee shop. Six months later, he was the very first person I ever shared my “God dream” with. After sharing the dream, he asked me a question. “What are you gonna do about it?” My response was, “What do you mean?” He boldly pointed his finger at me and said, “That’s YOUR call!”

That started my journey of discovery and confirmation of God’s call on my life. On the morning of April 4, 2019, from a personal conversation with God, I made a life-altering decision to go “ALL IN” for God. I dedicated myself as a full-time missionary to lead God’s Bucket Brigade. Since then, through prayer and divine direction, I have seen God move in miraculous and mighty ways in and through GBB.

In 2024, God blessed me with an amazing and Godly wife, Jo. Together, we are working diligently to let these buckets be a blessing poured out to those in need. With your help, we can positively impact those experiencing homelessness in the Kansas City area and beyond.

We are honored to lead and steward God’s Bucket Brigade with God’s guidance and wisdom.

An Open Door

“By showing that someone cares through meeting their physical needs, we can open a door to meeting their spiritual needs.”
